With humble beginnings in 1930’s, Volkswagen made a deafening noise that from the time it was established until this day, is heard and being followed by millions of enthusiasts. Setting the pace in the creation of Beetle, today, Volkswagen is a major car distributor all over the world with 9 models in North America and a number in other continents. Thus, this has also outlined the worldwide distribution of VW parts and accessories to amplify the scope of the empire. In no time, Volkswagen will be doing things that can ever leave the people with awe.
Aside from sales and civilian car productions, Volkswagen has also been with numerous racing tournaments. The very first car race it has participated is the Formula Vee. Formula Vee is a circuit racing that uses cars that are made up of VW parts of the Beetle. Five years later, this race was then elevated to another level and was renamed Formula Super Vee. Volkswagen also joined the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1980 and in 2006, has won the 2nd place with the Race Touareg 2. Countries such as Japan, Brazil, Australia Poland and many more also have their own racing tournaments and themes using Volkswagen cars. In the verge of the first decade of the 21st century, Volkswagen is looking forward to another stage in the racing world.
These past
participations of Volkswagen to different races are proof that the company is committed to quality engineering. Not to mention, current creations of the Volkswagen also cater safety VW parts and anti-theft accessories. The New Beetle is equipped with reinforced side beams and door panels which protects the passengers in the cabin during collisions. Other safety features have made the Volkswagen’s olden slogan – “People’s Car”- simply a reality.
At present day, despite the ever growing competition from major US car makers and other less expensive Japanese cars, Volkswagen still managed to bring back the popularity of the vehicle with the introduction of other models like the VW GTI and VW Golf.
